A. Pick 16 movies.
B. Then pick one of your favorite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes in your journal.
D. Have friends try to guess what the movie is.

1. My new hypothesis: If we're built from Spirals while living in a giant Spiral, then is it possible that everything we put our hands to is infused with the Spiral?

2. And our bodies are earth. And our thoughts are clay. And we sleep and eat with death.

3. You're a fucking ugly bitch. I want to stab you to death, and then play around with your blood.

4. Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

5. Seven utterly fabulous wishes for one piddling, little soul?

6. They used to be fat and juicy and now they're twisted. They had their lives stolen.

7. I want more life, fucker!

8. Now this is what I call a timely interruption! And whatever's to come of it - the devil himself only knows!

9. My breasts are full of love and life. My hips are round and well apart. Such women, they say, have sons.

10. If you ever loved me, don't rob me of my hate. It's all I have.

11. Fuck damnation, man! Fuck redemption! We are God's unwanted children? So be it!

12. For future reference, right handed men don't hold it with their left. Just one of those things.

13. I knew a man once who said, "Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back."

14. I can't make out whether you're a bloody madman or just half-witted.

15. You've got an overdeveloped sense of vengeance. It's going to get you into trouble someday

16. One more push, I'm gonna to smack his face so hard he'll have to stick his toothbrush up his arse to clean his teeth!

So midsummer of '06 is but a memory... but what a memory. :) We had an absolutely fabulous time with dear friends badseed01, onlyjanica, and psyberboi, good food and copious amounts of booze... We are so happy you all could make it, it truly made the summer. Even the weather cooperated (though the weather Sunday was giving us California flashbacks *hot*)... moonlight croquet was a highlight. It was awesome to get to share some of our Swedish midsummer traditions such as the pickled herring and 'snaps visor' (drinking songs), even though we ran out of time and didn't get the big midsummer pole built - we'll save that for next year. You guys were incredibly good sports when it came to the singing and after that many shots you could all have passed for native Swedes, lol. Proving that Eddie (Izzard) was right after all... 70% of how you look, 20% of how you sound, only 10% is what you say... heh. Your champagne fondue was super delicious onlyjanica sweetie, next time we'll have to start earlier so we'll have room for the chocolate one as well. :)

Hope to see you all again very soon. We love you guys!

Only one week to go. Last year about this time we were in Sweden with my family gearing up for the holiday. The past decade or so the tradition has been to celebrate the big day on the island across from the summer house at my uncle's refurbished ol' boat house - now turned into a bar/party house... right on the water. My younger cousins shuttling every one across in the boat since they are the only sober ones due to the fact that they are too young to partake of the traditional brew... Pretty awesome. The only holiday I can think of where you have three generations in various states of inebriation... but all in good true fun. Seriously! My chores on midsummer morning usually entail dressing the small midsummer pole at the house since we no longer partake in the larger community festivities where they dress a 20+ foot pole each year, ours measure about 7 feet (about all I can handle... heh) - of course I'm in charge of the phallic sculpting, have been since childhood, my parents had no idea what they were creating, lol.

This year we're looking forward to sharing the holiday with darling badseed01
on the peninsula. It's going to be great you guys, we are so looking forward to having you. :)

PS! Bring your singing voice....

Just wanted to say... I cannot get enough of this band! Simply PHENOMENAL! We were blown away when we stumbled across the debut album ('Lost Alone') a couple of years ago and I still have a hard time removing it from my CD player... The second release from last year ('Dreamweb') certainly did not disappoint either, taking the theme of the first album and expanding it further. The more you listen to either CD the better they get, now I know that's common but it is especially true here.

An excerpt from 'Machine Run' (off Dreamweb)

I will obey the machine,
doing what has to be done.
I fade out what I have seen,
and then I start to run.

I will suffocate my dream,
stall the blood in my veins,
to feed the machine,
until none of it remains.

So, if you haven't already... check 'em out! (...and tell me what you think - I can't wait!) http://www.mindinabox.com/

What's been said about the sound...
A thematic project that would destroy all boundaries between the realms of electro, ambient, techno-pop, new wave, dance, EBM, and trance music. Translation: AWESOME!

...and this part I scabbed off the Music Non Stop site 'cuz it pretty much says it all so why re-write it? (MNS = awesome site for our kind of music) http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk

Mind.In.A.Box is that rare species of band who create music as a catalyst of expression, a storytelling medium, a means of getting the listener to reflect or, put quite simple : who make music for music's sake. The electronic duo belong without a doubt to a category all of their own - having awed listeners with their unique vision of the future with their stunning 2004 debut "Lost Alone". For many a light at the end of the tunnel, "Lost Alone" rose like a phoenix from the ashes of the splintered electro scene ( and was justifiably heaped with praise from both press and fans alike,. spending weeks at the top of the DAC charts and winning countless 'album of the month' awards ) Returning with their long-awaited sophomore album "Dreamweb" - they deliver an album that places multifaceted electronics, diversity, and harmonized vocals squarely in the foreground. However, behind the fragile mix of techno, electro, and ambient lies a wealth of expressive power and emotion that reveals itself only through careful, multiple listenings, like a fine painting that leaves room for interpretation, divulging its beauty piece by piece. Like its predecessor "Lost Alone", "Dreamweb" is an exciting, genre-bending journey into other worlds that must be expierienced to be believed...

You need more??? This is what Metropolis site has to say...

Seldom does a newcomer offer a debut album as impressive as Mind.In.A.Box did with 2004's magnificent, genre-bending Lost Alone. In April 2005 the new import single Certainty created a brilliant transition from their Lost Alone 'sound' to the new 'sound' of the upcoming album Dreamweb. For the new album, they have once again managed to condense their indescribable creative potential into a cohesive aural excursion and the results are just as difficult to categorize this time around. Dreamweb's techno, EBM, and trance styles are all bound together effortlessly and continue down the path that impressed so many people last year.

Alright... headphones back on.

PS! Yup Lann... this is another for the 'huh' category... xoxo

You guys are awesome! *HUGS* :) Who would have thought you could have this much fun with clothes on, heh... Hope you didn't get stuck in any holiday traffic on the way back. Our door is always open.

Seriously... what changed? Traffic this whole week has been HELL!!! No accidents, no boneheaded drivers stuck on the road and yet it has added 30-45 min to my usual commute - EACH WAY! Sudden exodus from the city to the peninsula? Swarms of locusts driving people west? What??? Luckily enough people decided to play hooky this morning so it was smooth sailing the whole way. I hope it holds for this afternoon...... Alright thanks for letting me vent...... sigh!
